Five years in, the market has 38 stalls and a waiting list. Our rules are simple: local food, no single-use plastic, and every stall pays the same fee.

Our best day had 1,100 visitors and our worst, in heavy rain, had 90. The stalls that did best sold something you could eat on the spot.

Pay the farmers the same day. They remember it.

This is a demo story: every name, place, organisation and figure in it is fictional.
